28 May Winter Fashion 2021 – The Styles & How to Wear Them
Welcome to June, as I type I can’t help but be reminded of our usual biennial trip during the weeks of June and July spent with family on the Mediterranean Sea. But alas we are healthy and here, in what I feel to be the safest country in the world right now!
Last month we transported ourselves to the streets of Paris taking you on a virtual tour showcasing French fem fashion trends you too can apply with your daily outfits. This month I am bringing it back home and down under with in our 2021 Trends Currently in Your Wardrobe – to my very own Daily Mantras I use to Start Your Week Right, cause let’s face it we can all do with a little boost of feel good vibes heading into the colder winter months.
This winter, there’s a slightly lighter and sexier mood in the air to this time last year. Lots of sorbet pastels, statement leather styles and soft knitwear textures found in comfort clothing we first saw last season remaining key signature looks Australian designers such as Manning Cartel, Aje and Assembly Label have embraced.
Enjoy our small yet mighty little read, and as always, thank you for your continuing support on this platform and within our stylish little community.
With warm cosy hugs,
2021 Trends Currently In Your Wardrobe
If part of your personal mantra this year was to show up for yourself and get dressed more often I can certainly relate. Lucky for you though, its highly likely 2021’s fashion trends and best looks may just have permanent residency in your very own wardrobe saving you time and $ on catching up with this seasons trends. Let’s take a peek at trends you may very well already have in your wardrobe along with my stylist tips on how-to style them up for an updated look…
Past – Belts were often overlooked, referred to as an add-on accessory many chose to do without. For the men it’s the usual item needed to hold up pants some feel is a nuisance.
Present – Let’s talk about the statement buckle; wear it high, low and everywhere in between. It’s time to pull out that box of belts you’ve collected over the years be it thin, wide, leather and fabric and have fun with this hot little accessory styling it back with your favourite denim jeans, around your waist adding interest to that LBD you’ve dusted off for Friday night drinks with the girls and over your favourite blazer and coat for that winter in New York kind of feel.
Past – Cute textured twin sets found in matching cardigan and top during the 60’s and later 90’s were perceived as preppy look.
Present – Matching sets are a green light GO! From soft cashmere sets in knitwear, blazer/pant suits to loungewear sweat pant sets, you can enjoy this look with your favourite layered necklaces taking your season’s style to a whole new level. Don’t have a matching set of sorts? You can easily style back a similar look by pairing tops and bottoms in the same colours.
The LBD (Little Black Dress)
Past – Typically that special little number that fits like a glove, nips in at all the right places, hiding the bits you don’t like and generally makes you feel like you’ve landed Elle Macphersons body for the night.
Present – Same Same but different. It’s time to bring out that favourite you’ve stored during 2020 and covid-19 lockdown. The new reimagined LBD is not necessarily black but rather a focus on your favourite dress providing you the very same feel good felt every time you wear it. Don’t wait for that special occasion – every day is a good day when confidence is felt with how you look and what you wear. Dress your outfit up or down according to your work and social commitments, for me I love to tone my favourites down for casual Fridays look by adding a layer in the form of a blazer and coatigan topped with an ankle boot or sneaker. Now your turn to give it a go!

07 Mantras to Start Your Week Right
Sure being positive is definitely the ideal way to start each day but also unrealistic to feel this can be achieved 24/7.
Emotions like worry, fear, pain and even anger are a normal human process we often need to feel (a little like the anger felt while locking myself out of the house for three hours this past week eeeek!) However that’s not to say I don’t like to reset and upkeep a healthy positive mind-set each week that also helps boost my day plus my clients confidence in personal styling.
Here are 7 of my favourites on repeat…
KK’s Winter Hit List
Dior Indulgence – Gifted myself this indulgent body lotion last Christmas and have since been addicted adding the matching fragrance to my daily favourites on rotation. Be warned – once you dive into the world of Dior you will J’adore forever!
